While we do regularly post some of our positions on our website, we do not post many of our positions as we actively recruit for the majority of the positions that we work on. As a result, we do encourage you to reach out to us and/or upload your resume if you are interested in having us meet with you and/or reach out to you when suitable opportunities become available.
We love to meet and chat with people, and we are happy to provide resume and career advice as well as information on the job market and salaries, and also happy to provide guidance and counselling with your career search and your own efforts. While we may or may not currently have a role that meets your needs and expectations, by meeting you and getting to better understand what you are looking for in your next position, we can better tailor and identify potential roles as they become available in the near future.
To be honest, we don’t really consider it an interview. It really is an opportunity for us to get to know you and for you to see what we’re all about and for you to ask any questions you might have about the industry, opportunities and your career search. We will tell you a little more about ourselves, our process and the types of roles and companies we work with and in turn can assist you with your own search efforts which we encourage you to continue in tandem with ours. We will spend some time discussing your background and experience and working through your resume to ensure we have as much information regarding your skills and experience as possible. Most importantly, we will take some time to understand what you want from your next role and what’s important for you as, lets face it, most of us do have a life outside work! We want to hear about your family, your pets, hobbies, and interests and get a sense of the environment and culture where you would be most comfortable.
Unfortunately, we can never predict when or what jobs become available in the market, but we are always talking to clients and companies and keeping an eye on the market with candidates such as yourself in mind. Having met with you and having a good understanding of your skills, experience and the types of opportunities that interest you enables us to reach out to you first when a suitable role becomes available. That being said, we do encourage you to keep in touch and feel free to reach out and touch base with us if you see a role we’ve posted or if you have questions about opportunities you’re actively applying to and want more information.
When we find a role that looks to be a fit for you, we will reach out directly and provide you with complete details on the role and the company and chat with you to see if it might be something you want to pursue. At this time, we may also dig a little deeper if there are specific aspects or additional skills and experience relevant to the job that we didn’t discuss or cover in detail in our initial meeting.
If all looks good, we will pass along your resume and a summary of your skills and experience relevant to the position for the client to review and if all goes well, we will work with you and the client to coordinate interviews that fit with your schedule.
Most people have not been on many interviews and as a result are nervous and find the process quite daunting. Don’t worry as we will help you through the interview process and will spend some time with you beforehand preparing for the interview and providing tips and suggestions on how best to approach the meeting and calm those nerves! Following your meeting, we will follow up with you to see how the meeting went and what your thoughts were, as we want to ensure that the role met your expectations and most importantly is still something you want to pursue and feel comfortable with.
Congratulations! You have an offer. We will work directly with you and the client throughout the offer process to negotiate a formal offer of employment. We will usually present the offer directly to you and can discuss the details, terms, and any questions you may have and where necessary, communicate any questions or changes back to the client. At this time, we do also conduct reference checks on the client’s behalf and as such will conduct a couple of supervisory references with individuals that have worked with you and can speak to your experience and performance.
We like people and we want to keep in touch, so we will follow up with you shortly after starting in your new role to ensure a smooth transition and address any questions or concerns you might have. We will continue to keep in touch going forward and we’re always available to chat and want to hear how your career is progressing in your new role.
